Our History
In 2018, the governance of schools in the Diocese of Sale was transferred to a newly established entity, the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited (DOSCEL).
DOSCEL is a company limited by guarantee. The sole member of the company is the Bishop of Sale.
Mission
Catholic Education in the Diocese of Sale is a vital expression of the mission of the Church. The Diocese of Sale covers 39 Catholic primary schools and seven Catholic secondary schools spanning metropolitan, regional, and rural areas from Cranbourne and Narre Warren in the west, to Philip Island in the south and Orbost in the east.
All primary schools and five of the seven secondary schools in the Diocese are owned and operated by DOSCEL.
DOSCEL’s aim is to deliver the highest quality educational opportunities and outcomes for every student in every school in the Diocese.
ABOUT US
Welcome from the Director
As the governing body for 39 primary and five secondary schools in the Diocese, we invite you to explore the unique benefits of Catholic education.
DOSCEL provides leadership, support, and resources to our schools. We also oversee the employment of all staff across our schools, fostering a dedicated and inspiring educational environment.
Whether you are seeking a nurturing environment for your child or exploring career opportunities in education, our schools are dedicated to creating inclusive Christ-centred communities that nourish the heart, mind, and spirit.
Our approach is rooted in our Vision: Faith inspired educational excellence for a faith-filled future.
At the core of this is a commitment to develop each student holistically – spiritually, academically, socially, culturally, physically, and emotionally.
Our schools partner with parishes to support students’ faith journeys, encouraging them to become confident, compassionate, and engaged individuals.
Supported by strong governance and a focus on child safety, sustainability, and ethical stewardship, our schools are committed to providing high-quality, affordable education enriched by Catholic Social Teaching.
Catholic schools welcome students and staff of all cultural backgrounds and faiths.
It is my sincere hope that you will find in our Catholic schools a place where every student and staff member feels valued, respected, and cared for – a place inspired by the fullness of life, faith, and learning.
